We go out weekly to bring supplies and food to those in need. If you would like to donate any of these materials, please contact Harold Arvin at 614-483-2877.
We prefer to accept donations that can be utilized by the people we serve. Specialty items often go unused, and may have to be discarded due to a lack of space. Used items are welcomed, though worn out or damaged products will likely be discarded as well. To ensure that your donation sees use by people in need, please limit your search to the following items. High-demand products are highlighted in some categories, though anything that falls under that category will be useful.
Spring & Summer Priorities
These items address the immediate challenges of the warmer, wetter months:
- Sun & Insect Protection: Sunscreen (SPF 30+), insect repellent/bug spray, and lip balm with SPF.
- Rain Gear: Lightweight rain ponchos and compact umbrellas to keep clothing and bedding dry during spring storms.
- Summer Headwear: Baseball caps, visors, or wide-brimmed hats to provide shade.
- Lightweight Clothing: Breathable T-shirts, shorts, and moisture-wicking cotton socks (clean socks remain a top priority year-round).
- Light Bedding: Lightweight sleeping bags or thin fleece blankets (replacing the heavy winter sets).
- Tents & Tarps: These remain a critical priority year round, providing essential shelter from both rain and direct sun.
Year-Round Essentials
These core items are always in high demand for the weekly visits:
- Propane Canisters: Camp-size canisters for cooking and small stoves.
- Non-Perishable Food: Easy-to-open cans, protein bars, peanut butter, and crackers.
- Personal Hygiene: Toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, and travel-size wet wipes.
- Lighting: Headlamps and batteries (AA and AAA are most common).
- Footwear: Sturdy sneakers, hiking boots, or durable sandals/flip-flops.
- Utility Items: Belts and candles.
- Foot Powder: Helps prevent infections and discomfort caused by heat and moisture.
- First Aid Supplies: Bandages, antiseptic wipes, and antibiotic ointment for minor cuts or bites.
- Backpacks: Sturdy used backpacks to help individuals keep their belongings organized and mobile.
Note on Donations: To ensure items can be utilized immediately, we suggest focusing on gear that is durable and easy to carry. Used items are always welcome, provided they are in good, functional condition.
